[SOLVED] Game won't load - Error screen

Hi there

I've just started using the tf2 offline version as we will be soon supporting it at our lan events.
When i try and launch the game i get the following error - "Error reading application id. Please either write to steam_appid.txt or use the launcher!"


I am using a bat file with the following command: start hl2.exe -steam -game tf -appid 440 -console -novid
I am running version 1.1.0.0 with the fix (Am in the process of downloading the rest of the updates)

If anyone can help me i would appreciate it.

In TF2 Installation Directory(Folder) write a text file named " steam_appid.txt " without quotes.
Open it and write " 440 " in it and SAVE it.

Have just done all the updates and its working hundreds now. :ph34r:

Hey zex maybe you can help me i have been getting same problem with KF every time i try to run a dedicated server can you tell me how to fix this?
