Updates to Left 4 Dead have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The major changes include:

Left 4 Dead

    * Teams that prefer listen servers will no longer be matched with teams that prefer dedicated servers
    * Official dedicated servers are now preferred when searching for team matches
    * More populous lobbies are now preferred over less populous ones when searching for games
    * Players who crash or have failed to load are no longer banned if they have been kicked
    * Fixed exploit allowing players to end games prematurely using the 'outtro_stats_done' console command
    * Reduced Dedicated Server max search ping to 150 ms
    * Fixed a common crash

thanks for the update. I updated from 1013 to 1017 and at the menu the game crashes, any idea?

Gettin any specific errors when It crashes? Did you install the full update?

yes i have installed everything and done everything above. It just says left 4 dead has encounterd an error and needs to shut down, AppName: left4dead.exe    AppVer: 0.0.0.0    ModName: unknown
ModVer: 0.0.0.0    Offset: 00000000.

Testing L4D v1.0.1.7 with Rev-Emu 9.81 R4 today, ingame server browser work but no server lists in the Internet TAB or Custom TAB and when i click on History and Friend TAB game CTD

I've only clicked on the "favorite" TAB and the game crashed to the desktop. I have servers in my Internet and custom TABS. My server is finally in there after adding it to the setti list yesterday. Don't you have to change your masterservers.vdf so the setti servers show up in the browser for you?

sorta... only have to put setti's masterserver.vdf into <root>\bin\config folder. and set it as read-only...
Other than that, rev-emu has to be configured properly.

Satannuts im using your Rev Installer 9.81 R4 so i think everything is setting properly also setti MasterServers.vdf set to Read Only
