This guide below is out-dated.  For install instructions see HERE and to update get the full 1013 update posted HERE.
only patches to get you to the latest version 1013 [exe build may 13 2009] are needed, NOT ALL OF THEM!!

*EDIT* Here's a mini-guide to the updating process:

Firstly download 1.0.1.2 from this link and overwrite the relevant files in your installation folder

THEN download patch 1.0.1.3 from here and again overwrite

THEN download 1.0.1.3 hotfix #1 from here making sure to overwrite

THEN download 1.0.1.3 hotfix #2 from here overwriting as you go

THEN download Rev-Emu 9.77 from here, overwrite and Bob's yer uncle

FFS been waiting all day for this - according to some people over at the steam forums it should be out in half an hour (18:00 GMT) although I'm not holding my breath.

Unless their are any major changes to the game engine (which it doesn't look like) private servers should be up and running within about 2 hours of launch.

-You Build A Level With Your Friends
-Then You Put Zombie Spawn Spots And Team Defense Spots
-Place Objects And Some Things ( Like Minigun,Medikits,Weps,Ammo,Pills... )
-After Killing The Horde For x Time A Rescue Will Come At y Rescue Spot
-WiN! x)

I think SDK will bring us more maps, and on xbox it was cool i got pwned by tank in the garage.
I don't like that the xbox doesn't support a mouse and a keyboard like ps3 does.
The controller ruined the experience, but i really liked the light house map.

FPS is meant for keyboard and mouse.

Guys here is a list of changes:
 Survival Mode:

    * New gameplay Mode
    * 16 maps including Last Stand
    * Leaderboards
    * 7 new achievements

Versus Changes:

    * Fixed a case where versus team score would continue to be recalculated after the score panel was displayed
    * Fixed an issue with recalculating the versus score health bonus for a player when they are rescued from being incapacitated
    * Fixed being able to start a swing as an infected, then teleport to the survivors and have the claw swing hit a survivor
    * Fixed a case where teleporting to the survivors would not reset the ability timer
    * Fixed an exploit where you could load the chamber of a weapon with bullets by holding down the melee key
    * Fixed a case where it was not possible to join a game while it was in a finale
    * Fixed a rare case where listen servers would speed up the game over time
    * Removed convars related to melee fatigue
    * Fixed a case where infected players would get a respawn time on their initial spawn into a map

Server Changes:

    * Made ms_force_dedicated_server not require cheats
    * Add a message when queuing a heartbeat
    * Simplified setting of game mode (removed convars director_no_human_zombies and director_holdout_mode, added mp_gamemode [coop,versus,survival])

General:

    * Added lobby join and leave messages

I've tried running it with Steam opened, and it said I didn't have permission to run the game. So, you probably need SteamUP (cracked steam?), like it's stated on the nfo.
