i don't understand this fix... you still can't see user nicknames in server browsers after 1.0.0.9!
well maybe a few rare servers on linux but it still seems bugged cuz it shows the same "online time" for every player not that it really matters
what am i missing here?

eh hmm here are the linux servers i'm talking about on 1.0.1.1 where u can see user nicknames on server browsers
(Linux, Dedicated, Protocol 7)

so was this fix only for linux?!

When did RC2 come out?  According to the Rev-crew forum it's still in the RC1 stage. RevEmu 9.76 RC1 I wont update the main page yet as this needs testing. Please post feedback if you experience any problem (with the logs if necessary) Changelog [18.04] - Fixed some plugin problems when posting a callback (hopefully)
- Re-Implemented the stats module

Here ya go, Alko: v9.78 RC2 released. Changelog: - Updated the Steam2 validation so it can recognize new revEmu clients
This change will make all you CS: Source admins happy, since you will have your SteamIDs again. NOTE!! If playing Counter-Strike: Source, do not use steamclient.dll from revEmu package. Use steamclient.dll from source dedicated server.gcf or obtain one with hldsupdatetool. And make sure you set SteamClient to False under [Emulator] section in rev.ini! |

I cannot get the server browser working with this and L4D... I actually have RC2 but uh yea... I have the rev-emu files at their proper location and I have the masterservers.vdf in my Left 4 Dead\platform\config folder but the server browser always says no internet games have responded to your query...
As I understand it, this version is supposed to have a working server browser...?

You have to use the ClientDll for the browser to work. I wouldn't recommend it though. And of course you'll still have to join cracked servers. Just use qtracker or a similar program.

I just was wondering why it was not working is all...
I am using Qtracker for the time being, along with the Qtracker text file from the server lists on this site...
Just would have been more convenient to have the server browser because I play with a controller on my TV...
Walking across the room to switch from single player to online play is annoying...

Just a bump and insert a quote from myself. Added new version of the L4D_Rev-Emu_Installer... its still at v9.80rc1, but with a newer setup so i tacked a v3 at the end... New Instructions too... to get serverbrowser working with setti servers... Install Latest Rev-Emu using Installer.
Go into your Left 4 Dead\bin\config folder and make Masterserver.vdf Read-Only.
Edit rev.ini with notepad to change your name. [SteamUser=YourName and PlayerName=YourName]
To install Rev-Emu manually,
Get the official Rev-Emu [from the rev thread]:
First rename left4dead's legit steamclient.dll [the 3271KB one] to steamclient_ori.dll.
Then copy rev.ini to your root L4D folder, and rev-emu dll's to L4D\bin folder.
Next, get the setti Masterserver.vdf and place it into L4D\bin\config and mark as READ-ONLY.
Make a new Steam folder in your root L4D... L4D\Steam and place the latest Steam.dll from legit Steam install there.
now configure rev.ini like so:
SteamDll=Steam\Steam.dll
SteamClient = True
ClientDLL=steamclient_ori.dll
and don't forget to change yer name...

I installed the incremental v1014 to v1015 patch and the new rev-emu v9.8.1 r3 and my game keeps crashing to desktop as soon as is entering the main menu; I dont get any error description whatsoever. I also downloaded and installed the full update to v1.0.1.5 and again the same thing happens. My shorcut doesn't have the -serverbrowser command; also tried the steam cloud fix in registry; also made Masterserver.vdf Read-Only; all has been to no avail.  Up to v1014 everything was working fine. I even used the HLdsUpdateTool.exe to update my SRCDS.exe for making my dedicated server when I play in Hamachi and is working fine. from the OP - Note: Do not use the serverbrowser. It will cause the game to crash to desktop.
Its best to remove -serverbrowser parameter from yer startup if you have it. Please state what release you are using and which patches you've used and in what order... |

My game crashes too when trying to open serverbrowser. updated from 1.0.14 to 1.015, in 1.014 it worked fine now its bugged. Im using iAPULA version of L4D i think.

Need a little help. Downloaded full patch to 1015 everything seems okay but when I go to "add on camp." it is blank I used an update from a different site. When I try downloading the one here it says not a valid win32 application. I'm on vista 32 and using psy l4d any help would be great thnx.

I uninstalled/reinstalled a Skidrow I found. Did the full update and rev-emu 9.8.1.r3 and it's the same as before: crashes to desktop.

Well like I imagined and like you said, apparently was the SCRDS.exe; at any rate, I deleted it completely, reinstalled the Skullptura release, applied the full v1015 update and now is fixed. I'm up and running ! Thanks to all for the remarks. |
