[SOLVED] Unhandled exception caught - Serverside crash

out of our 8 cracked servers everyday theres one or 2 that crash, with the above msg, after looking it up i could only find info related to clients not servers and they recommended a dx update which i did but i still get this error, whats more annoying is that once the server crashes the process is unkillable with the task manager and i have to do a full reboot to get rid of the "ghost in the machine"

Any advice would be welcome

Update your server's directx using the the updater found on the install disk, just rar and upload and install.
Do not use the latest release from microshit it's missing many files.
(dont believe me? run the lastest ms dx release then run the game dx installer it will add at least 20 files)

For unlinking from turret crash/hang

Set the playerrespawndelay for that gametype to at least 1, this bug is caused by a player respawning after getting killed on a bipod or turret, for some reason the server respawns the player before unlinking that players dead body from the turret causing the server to crash.

easily fixable problem!....

just make sure you don't place the crack file for the single player just leave the original file!.... and the "unhandled exception caught" will not appear! hope that helps.

I use to get the same thing kept happening to me! i tried every thing... DX, C++ runtime, and any thing you can think off!..

what i get is  "gathering account information" then i crash to desktop with "unhandled exception caught"

ok now i placed the Mp crack in the install directory (so that it dont ask for online account)

then i put the original Single player .exe

then i connect to server and it says that it cannot connect to online master server and i crash to desktop "unhandled exception caught"

YOU dont need to crack anything in multiplayer, just the server need ot crack, if you go putting cracked files in your game you gonna end upp with a YOURNAME Punkbuster kicked player 'YOURNAME' (for 0 minutes) ... RESTRICTION: Corrupted File/Memory [81395] when you join a server


The most common way to fix Unhandled Exception Error

This error is also given if you are missing the directx redistributable. If you have installed that file and the issue is still not solved try the following:

VISTA:
a. Goto - Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Sound > Speakers > Properties > Advanced Tab
change the “Default Format” to 24 bit, 48000 Hz (Studio Quality)

XP/SP3
a. Goto - My Computer > Properties > Hardware > Device Manager > Sound, vid/game Controllers > UNIMODEM Half Duplex Audio Device > DISABLE

im having the same problem and used the razorkeygen or whatever to make a new key but it still didnt work.. first i set the connection to the codwawmp.exe off, then i verified the cdkey and it was valid so i tried to go to cracked server, but i didnt work (no wonder) i left the connection of the codwawmp.exe off, so i changed it back to allow and tried it again but when i launched the exe... (few seconds) and once again "unhandled exception caught". (the codwawmp.exe launched and went to main menu perfectly without errors when the connection were down).  i would really appreciate the help!
